Superintendent's Office
For those not familiar with our school district, the Spotswood Public Schools is committed to focusing on the whole child by providing a robust educational program and diverse extracurricular experience for our students. Our district promotes academic excellence, creativity, and critical thinking in the classroom and encourages participation in clubs, student groups and service organizations outside of the instructional day. As a result, Spotswood Public Schools provides all children an exemplary instruction program, challenging educational experiences and an assortment of opportunities to stay involved in the school community.
The foundation of our school district’s educational plan is high academic expectations for all of our students. This is supported in the schools by our classroom teachers, school administrators and district leadership, and in the community by our parents and stakeholders. Together, our school community works to ensure that every day, in each classroom, every student is learning and achieving to his/her fullest potential. This is evidenced through increases in SAT scores, enrollment increases in our Advanced Placement course offerings, and state assessment scores that consistently exceed our District Factor Group and state averages.
Our academic foundation is built upon by our school community’s recognition of the importance of a well-rounded student and as such, the district provides a broad spectrum of Fine and Performing Arts programs and activities as well as strong extracurricular and cocurricular opportunities that all of our students are encouraged to take part in throughout the school year. Student government, service clubs and academic organizations complement a rich and growing Fine and Performing Arts program for our students.
Both our academic and extracurricular programs are supported by a dedicated staff of professional educators and hard-working support staff who are committed to continuous improvement and growth. A hallmark of this dedication to improvement is the four year New Teacher Induction Program which works to provide our new teachers with the training and resources needed to create excellent learning environments, and encourages them to be part of our school community.
Additionally, the entire staff works together to prepare all students for college and career success. Our Leadership Team, Curriculum Team, Model Teacher Cohort, School Improvement Teams, School Safety Teams, and Professional Learning Communities work to ensure our instructional practices are the very best and challenge our students.
Spotswood Public Schools is preparing the whole student for success after graduating from our schools, whether that be college or career, with our challenging instruction and active extra-curricular programs. Our students’ success is a direct result of their efforts and those of the dedicated staff and supportive community.
